Mrs. Frances Wood-Suku Recent Visit To Monrovia, Liberia

1186891_10101096919481611_778590617_nMrs. Frances Woods-Suku, Deputy Director of Programs of The Checago Bright Foundation, Inc recently visited Monrovia, Liberia for the first time over 18 years to attend her grandmother’s funeral. While in Liberia, Mrs. Suku decided to visit one of the CBF projects constructed a little over a year in Gbalasuah Community, Caldwell/Duala area, Liberia.

These are her exact words:

“Finally got to see one of the projects today. I am very proud to be associated with the Checago Bright Foundation, Inc. The hand pump and latrines are well maintained and the toilets are very clean.”

Mrs. Suku further stated that she spoke at length with a couple of the community leaders and the level of pride they take in these facilities is moving and humbling.  Mr. Swaray, Community Leader spoke of the impact of the facilities on the community.  Mrs. Suku stated that Mr. Swaray said,

“You just won’t understand how this water pump and toilet have helped our community.”

“He said you should have come earlier to see the crowd.” Mrs. Suku stated that these facilities are more than meeting their functional needs; they are building a sense of community for the Gbalasuah community which is something that’s needed in many communities in Liberia. May God continue to bless Mr. Bright-Sawo and the work of the Foundation.
